6 mõjuvat põhjust, miks peaks raseduse ajal suitsetamist vältima

Seda, et suitsetamine kahjustab tervist, teavad kõik. Miks tasub aga olla raseduse ajal eriti hoolas ja vältida nii suitsetamist, kui kokkupuuteid suitsetavate inimestega?

Miks tasub vältida rasedusaegset suitsetamist:

1) Rasedusaegne suitsetamine mõjutab beebi aju terve tema elu. Lastel võivad esineda õpiraskused, käitumisprobleemid ja suhteliselt madal intelligentsustase, madalam enesekontroll ja/või hüperaktiivsus. Vanemad ei mõista miks lapsel koolis raske on, aga nad ei tule selle peale, et asi oli ema raseduse ajal suitsetamises.

2) Suitsetava ema laps sünnib maailma nutuse ja närvilisena – nikotiinisõltlasena.

3) Suitsetava ema lapse immuunsüsteem on nõrgem, laps on vastuvõtlikum haigustele ja tal esineb lapseeas suurenenud vajadus terviseteenuste järele, võrreldes mittesuitsetajate perest pärit lapsega.

4) Raseduse ajal suitsetavate naiste beebidel on kõrgem oht kaasasündinud arenguhäireteks. Ema suitsetamine kahjustab lapse kopse ja soodustab haigestumist.

5) Beebid, kelle emad suitsetavad enne ja pärast sünnitust, on 3–4 korda enam ohustatud äkksurmast.

6) Hea oleks, kui raseduse ajal ei suitsetaks ka isa. Passiivne suitsetamine, st suitsetavate inimestega samas ruumis viibimine, mõjub sama kahjustavalt kui suitsetamine. Teiste suitsetavate pereliikmete või töökaaslaste riietel olev tubakalõhn ja vingugaasiküllane väljahingatav õhk on rasedale naisele ja sündimata lapsele kahjulikud.
