Müüt 1: Kui mul valutab pea, siis pean alati võtma valuvaigistit.

Tegelikult võib sagedane valuvaigistite kasutamine peavalusid süvendada.

Müüt 2: Peavalu on ajukasvaja algus.

Tegelikult pole valdav enamus peavalusid üldse kasvajatega seotud.

Müüt 3: Migreen on naistehaigus.

Tegelikult on umbes kolmandik migreeni all kannatajaid mehed.

Müüt 4: Kui mul on tihti peavalu, siis peab ilmtingimata tegema peast pilti.

Tegelikult pole esmaste peavalude puhul pea uurimine üldse vajalik.

Müüt 5: Peavalu puhul psühholoog ei aita – ma ei ole ju hull!
