Mobiiltelefonid võivad mõjutada meeste viljakust
Enamik maailma täiskasvanud elanikkonnast omab mobiiltelefone. Samas umbes 14 protsenti paaridest seisavad silmitsi probleemidega järglase saamisel.
Exeteri ülikooli teadlased viisid läbi põhjaliku süsteemse ülevaate, lähtudes kümnest uuringust, eesmärgiga teha kindlaks mobiiltelefonidest erituva kiirguse võimalikku rolli viljakusprobleemides.
Uuringus osalejate sperma kvaliteeti hinnati kolme parameetri alusel: seemnerakkude liikuvus, elujõulisus ja kontsentratsioon. Kui kontrollrühmas omasid 50-85 protsenti seemnerakkudest normaalset liikuvust, siis kokkupuutel mobiiltelefonidega langes see näitaja keskmiselt 8 protsendini. Samasugust langust täheldati ka seemnerakkude elujõulisuses.
Mobiiltelefonide kasutamine on tänapäeval kogu maailmas üha levinum ning sellest tulenevad võimalikud ohud ei ole veel päris selged. Antud uuring näitab, et püksitaskutes kantavatest mobiiltelefonidest erituv raadiosageduslik elektromagnetkiirgus võib kahjustada seemnerakkude kvaliteeti. Sellise mõju kliiniline tähendus vajab veel edasisi uuringuid.
